"Hello?" Wallace called as he walked into his mother's home, when he had called his home and gotten no answer he had known instantly where Tiana would be. The only other place she felt safe and secure, so once he had gotten off the plane, he had told Allen he would debrief after he had seen Tiana and Etta. The powers that be hadn't been happy but he hadn’t cared all he'd cared about was Tiana, Etta and the baby. He called out again to those in the home.
Wallace turned towards the kitchen when he heard voices he should have known Tiana and his mother would be in the kitchen it seemed both were always baking or talking about something and it always seemed to happen in the kitchen. He was about to announce his presence once again when he saw Tiana holding an ice pack to her cheek. What the hell was going on?
"I shouldn’t have hit him. My mother always told me not to hit someone because they will hit you back."
"He called your children bastards I would have hit him too," Carolyn said as she placed a hand over Tiana's. When the younger woman had shown up at her home with an increasing bruise Carolyn knew she needed to find out what the hell had happened before Wallace came home and went ballistic.
"Still."
"Still nothing Wilson had no right to place his hands on you."
Tiana released a breath. "All I wanted was my things. The next thing I know Wilson and I are going back and forth and I end up on the floor."
"Some place you should not have been unless there is man above you doing the most delicious things to you."
Tiana chuckled. "Do you kiss your children with a mouth like that?"
Carolyn winked at her. "Actually I do."
Tiana chuckled then winced.
"Oh honey. Do we need -"
"No," Tiana shook her head "I don’t need a doctor I didn’t fall on my stomach just my butt."
"Still I would feel better if a doctor checked you out."
"And when Wallace calls?" Tiana shook her head "I don’t want him to worry. He told me not to go over there but I didn’t listen. I should have listened."
"Honey you has every right to get your things. You put it off for a week helping Evan with the apology letters. It was my grandson who had no right to do what he did. Now," Carolyn stood, "I am going to call the family doctor so he can check you out then you are going to rest giving me and Miss Etta some time to spend with each other."
Tiana smiled at Carolyn, "Thank you."
Carolyn nodded as she placed a hand on Tiana's head then turned and walked away.
Wallace turned and walked back down the hall having heard enough to make his blood boil and him ready to kill. He opened the door to the house and headed out. No one knew he was back in town which was good because he was going to set his nephew straight once and for all.
